The Kelsey Claeys-Ostermann Memorial Scholarship supports current and former Nose Creek Softball players as they pursue post-secondary education. The scholarship began during Kelsey’s tenure as President, and now carries her name in recognition of her lasting contributions to the Association.
Kelsey was instrumental in shaping Nose Creek Softball into the strong and inclusive organization it is today. She ensured no player was left behind, built teams to give every athlete a place to play, and cultivated an environment rooted in development, safety, and community. The scholarship honours her legacy by supporting players who demonstrate commitment to the sport and their education.
To be considered, applicants must:
Have played at least 4 years with Nose Creek Softball
Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution
Be currently involved in softball (e.g., coaching, umpiring, post-secondary team, etc.)
Submit a short essay titled: “How Softball Has Influenced My Life”
Provide two letters of reference, preferably from individuals involved in softball
Successful recipients are required to complete 8 hours of volunteer player interaction with Nose Creek Softball during the upcoming season.
Award amounts are reviewed annually by the Board
Individual scholarships are valued at up to $500
