VOLUNTEER POLICY

Nose Creek Softball recognizes that the contribution of volunteers is

immeasurable and without volunteers, minor softball would not exist.

Collectively, we have a profound effect on the experience of over 300

young athletes every year. Due to the lack of volunteers, a policy has

been implemented starting with the 2012 season.

For Timbits

A
$100.00 volunteer post-dated deposit cheque will be required from each

registered family*. Each family, regardless of how many children they have

registered in the program, is expected to contribute a minimum of 4* hours

within the season for which they are registered. The deposit will only be

processed if the family does not complete and report the minimum number of

volunteer hours by the cutoff date.

*Families with athletes in the Timbits and main program (U9 to U19) will need to

meet the volunteer criterion for their eldest child (U9 to U19 athlete).

For U9 to U19

NEW this year for U9-U19, all families will need to provide family member to volunteer

throughout the season a minimum of 6 hours. If a family does not complete the 6 volunteer

hours the family will be charged a $200.00 volunteer fee.  All families (except

coaches and casino volunteers) will be required to help out with team responsibilities

(e.g., umpiring, scorekeeping, and preparing the field). In addition, it will be mandatory

for each family to volunteer during the Nose Creek Mother's Day Tournament. Each team

manager will determine if additional volunteer hours are required in order to have a

successful season for the players. A family will only be charged at the end of the season

if the family does not complete and report the minimum number of volunteer hours by

the cutoff date.

Families not obtaining their full volunteer credit will be notified that they will be charged

after August 15. It is the responsibility of each family to track and report their volunteer

time. Information on how to do so along with deadline dates to report volunteer time

will be communicated by the team manager.
